Working for Canadian Goat Producers

ID & Traceability

CNGF is working with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), other national commodity groups and  federal and provincial governments to prepare the Canadian goat industry for mandatory national identification and traceability.

On-Farm Food Safety

The Goat On-Farm Food Safety (GOFFS) program has been developed by the CNGF to provide producers with the tools and resources to demonstrate that the food we are producing is safe.

Scrapie

The continued presence of scrapie in Canada is preventing access to international markets including the United States. With your help, Canada can take action to eradicate scrapie.

Biosecurity

The implementation of on-farm biosecurity is a cornerstone to managing the risk of animal disease in Canadian goat herds. Keeping herds disease-free is an important part of ensuring producers are profitable and competitive.
